Our continued success has created this immediate opening for a Senior SQA Engineer – Test Automation. The Senior SQA Engineer is expected to collaborate with QA leadership to facilitate and expand upon the test automation framework for English and foreign language versions of eCopy’s suite of products.
Key Responsibilities:
The “Senior SQA Engineer – Test Automation” is expected to collaborate with QA leadership to facilitate and expand upon the test automation framework for English and foreign language versions of eCopy’s suite of products. The selected candidate will be the key hands-on contributor in automating, maintaining and extending the functional test scenarios.
This hire will interact with software developers and will collaborate with software test engineers to identify and automate all smoke tests and comprehensive functional suites. The “Senior SQA Engineer – Test Automation” is responsible for documenting the test automation, and training engineers on executing the tests and interpreting the results.
The ideal candidate must also be able to demonstrate flexibility via a willingness to occasionally participate in non-automated test efforts as near-term project needs arise, along with other tasks as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
6+ years of overall software quality assurance experience, with exposure to the full product development cycle – from requirements through post-release.
- Able to formulate and implement effective test strategies, and identify areas for efficiency improvement through automation.
- Significant experience delivering comprehensive and maintainable automated testing solutions in “time-to-market” driven project environments.
- Able to balance the need for a long term test automation vision with the ability to incrementally deliver automated test scripts against that vision early and often.
- 4+ years of test automation experience with commercial test tool packages (i.e., QTP, Winrunner, Rational Robot, SilkTest) in a Windows client / server environment. The selected candidate must have significant experience coding within one of these test tool’s native scripting languages. Advanced QTP and data driven automation expertise is a plus.
- 1+ year(s) of programming experience in at least one of C++, Java, C# or VBS. Experience testing an API is a plus.
- Experience routinely interfacing with software developers on “upstream” process improvements and key activities that lead to more efficient “downstream” QA system test cycles, such as collaborating with developers in designing for “testability,” leveraging development unit test programs, and participating in code reviews.
- Strong understanding of Windows server and desktop operating systems: XP, Windows 2003, Vista, Windows 2008.
- Skilled in network testing and troubleshooting. Experience with network diagnostic and traffic simulation tools is a plus.
- Good communication and documentation skills. Comfortable mentoring and training others.
- Routinely demonstrates flexibility and is a capable multi-tasker.
- B.S. degree in Computer Science, or equivalent technical discipline.
