London, UK., February 7, 2008 – eCopy, Inc. announced today it is providing document scanning solutions for Microsoft’s School Technology Innovation Centre (STIC) in Brussels to showcase technology to teachers and education leaders that will have a positive impact on teaching and learning.
The Brussels-based STIC programme’s key objective is to promote innovation in schools. It offers full support to the UK and its half a million teachers, and also is part of Microsoft’s executive briefing centre attracting thousands of IT professionals each year. eCopy is the only document scanning solution available through Microsoft’s Learning Gateway which will be at the STIC centre.
The STIC centres will enable Microsoft and its technology partners including eCopy to promote the effective use of ICT in the support of teaching and learning. Collaboration is at the heart of the STIC centre, bringing together teachers, school administrators, pupils and parents to share new learning and management processes for a positive impact on teaching.
“Microsoft is pleased to partner with eCopy and showcase their scanning solution in the School Technology Innovation Centre in Brussels. These solutions ensure the wealth of paperwork within an education environment is dealt with effectively, allowing better storage, retrieval and collaboration, using tools such as Exchange and SharePoint to help administration and teaching departments in their day to day work,” said David Langridge, Solutions and Partner Development Manager for Microsoft Education Solutions Group.
The Brussels STIC attracted over 2000 visitors last year running training, demonstrations, information sessions and open days for teachers, pupils and ICT education professionals. It is a resource for education outlets to receive training and share information and best practices.
eCopy has worked with many schools and education centres to implement simple, easy to use document capture systems. Visitors at the Brussels centre will be able to see how eCopy enables paper documents to be integrated into MS applications such as MS SharePoint and MS Exchange. Visitors will also be able to ask questions about their own document management needs and see how eCopy and Learning Gateway solutions can be implemented into their own schools to ease document work flow.
“eCopy is delighted to be involved in the Microsoft STIC programme. We fully encourage technology innovation in schools and look forward to having the opportunity to demonstrate our solutions to the thousands of visitors at the centre,” said Alan Cornwell, European General Manager, eCopy.
