      • IKON implements multi-vendor system to address customer's document workflow needs
      • eCopy™ software reduces business process cycle time and improves control

Malvern, Pa. and Nashua, N.H, December 13, 2005 — IKON Office Solutions (NYSE:IKN), the world's largest independent channel for document management systems and services, and eCopy, Inc., a leading provider of solutions that integrate paper documents into enterprise software applications, today announced that NJ TRANSIT has selected an IKON document management solution incorporating eCopy software designed to quickly, easily, and cost-effectively transform time-consuming paper-based processes to time-saving e-business workflows.

IKON Enterprise Services, IKON's global services organization with 15,000 employees worldwide, implemented the solution, which included the eCopy ScanStation™ document imaging and distribution system and a multifunction product (MFP) for scanning, copying, and printing documents. NJ TRANSIT, the nation's third largest provider of bus, rail, and light rail transit, plans to roll out the IKON/eCopy solution to many of its business groups to enable the improvement of paper-based business processes.

NJ TRANSIT uses the forms capability in their previously acquired Microsoft Outlook software to create and route more than 8,000 procurement requisitions and check requests annually. Prior to the implementation, this business process was handled using much slower and less efficient interoffice mail. On average, two paper documents were attached to each requisition or check request. These documents could include, for example, specifications, special instructions, photos, and invoices. As a result of the new IKON/eCopy document management solution, NJ TRANSIT expects to pull approximately 24,000 paper documents annually out of interoffice mail and into electronic workflows.

"Hundreds of NJ TRANSIT employees from various work locations around our system are responsible for generating procurement requisitions," said Richard Price, Director Materials Management at NJ TRANSIT. "Scanning documents to requisitions had to be a very simple process to justify a transition from using interoffice mail. We have found the IKON/eCopy solution to be fast and easy. Now, our hardcopy documents are delivered instantly, reducing the typical cycle time by two days."

Prior to the implementation of the IKON/eCopy solution, it would take days for requisitions and check requests to pass through interoffice mail to their destination. Using Microsoft Outlook enabled NJ TRANSIT to track requisitions or check requests at any point in the process for immediate access, without the risk of loss associated with hardcopy documents. The goal of the IKON/eCopy solution was to electronically attach the associated paper documents to the appropriate electronic documents so that NJ TRANSIT may improve control and save time.

"The system was designed to increase the speed of NJ TRANSIT's material requisition and check request processes, which were being slowed by paper-based workflows," said Michael E. Kohlsdorf, Senior Vice President of IKON Enterprise Services and Information Technology. "After assessing the workflow associated with these processes, IKON implemented eCopy software and a best-in-class MFP to provide a system for paper documents to enter an effective electronic workflow. This is just one example of how Ikon's Enterprise Services team can work with customers to assess their document workflow, and then combine the right people and the right technology from multiple vendors to provide our customers with cost-effective, timesaving business solutions."

eCopy ScanStation provides an ergonomically designed touch screen, keyboard, and PC that attach easily to digital MFPs so organizations can add hardcopy documents into business processes, such as document management, financials, human resources, content management, and customer management. ScanStation includes award-winning ShareScan™, eCopy's easy to use and highly customizable document imaging and distribution software that integrates directly with Microsoft Outlook.

NJ TRANSIT is now planning to expand the use of eCopy to replace other paper workflow processes. One area where NJ TRANSIT is considering using eCopy is to deliver information to the organization's police officers, which are located throughout the state. Currently, paper documents are distributed through various means to individual police officers. eCopy's scan to e-mail capability provides a fast, cost-effective, and secure method to deliver hardcopy information because it's delivered within minutes to an officer's personal e-mail box.
