Ricoh UK MFD customers now able to manage hard copies as part of their digital office document strategy
London, June 29th 2006 — Ricoh UK has signed an agreement with eCopy, a leading provider of solutions that integrate paper documents into enterprise software applications, to meet its customers' growing demand for control over hard copies.
The agreement enables any Ricoh UK MFD customer to integrate paper-based information securely and efficiently with enterprise applications, via the eCopy ShareScan® 4.0 software and ScanStation™. The companies have an established relationship in the US, but this is the first time that eCopy has signed a partnership deal with Ricoh that will be driven out of the UK.
"Customer feedback drove the formation of this partnership," explains Chas Moloney, associate director of marketing with Ricoh UK. "Compliance obligations are generating demand for greater control over paper-based information as an integral part of office document strategies. The eCopy solution complements our own products by providing the ability to integrate MFD scanning with enterprise applications for those customers who need this capability."
Beyond meeting compliance requirements, the eCopy partnership will also help Ricoh customers to reduce their dependence on slow and inefficient, paper-bound processes, as Keith Lietzke, Ricoh business unit manager with eCopy, explains:
"Our solution is used by front office workers on the same MFDs that they operate day in, day out. They're familiar with the interface and the process differs very little from conventional MFD usage, which makes getting their buy-in to use the new application a straightforward process. In simple terms, using eCopy on Ricoh MFDs means that storing a digital version of a document in your chosen enterprise application is as easy as copying it. It's user friendly and it provides a quick ROI because of this."
Moloney concludes, "Adding eCopy technology to Ricoh's portfolio supports our focus on delivering what customers need rather than trying to make their business work around our technology. It's another key tool to enable the company and its resellers to design, deliver and manage comprehensive office document strategies to meet any customer's requirements."
