Canon and EMC Sign Up as Platinum Sponsors for the Event

Nashua, N.H., March 6, 2006 — The second annual eCopy Paper Connection Forum will bring together office equipment dealers, copier manufacturers, software vendors, value added resellers, system integrators, and industry experts to collaborate on new, innovative solutions for paper to digital document workflows. The event, which attracts attendees from around the world, will take place April 3 - 6 at the Harbor Beach Marriott Resort & Spa in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

The eCopy Paper Connection Forum demonstrates the power of eCopy's Open Platform Architecture, which creates an ecosystem that addresses the needs of multifunction product (MFP) manufacturers, independent software vendors, office equipment dealers, and end users.

For MFP manufacturers, the Architecture expands market opportunities by enabling their products to serve as "paper on-ramps" to any business application - strengthening their position as an essential infrastructure provider. For software vendors, the eCopy Open Platform Architecture provides an environment that eliminates the need to build individual software connectors for each copier platform, making it much easier for their customers to integrate paper documents into their applications.

"The eCopy Paper Connection Forum is a pivotal industry event that focuses software developers on integrating their applications with MFPs, enabling users anywhere in the office to easily scan paper documents into electronic workflows," said Sam Yoshida, director and general manager, Corporate Systems Division, Canon U.S.A, one of the events platinum sponsors. "eCopy is a valued, strategic partner in addressing customers' document imaging and distribution needs."

According to Brad Florin, General Manager, Imaging and Archiving at EMC Software Group, "There have been tremendous technological advances in the area of document imaging, which have evolved to address business process automation, compliance requirements, and total cost of operation (TCO). Today, EMC is helping customers address these challenges by offering a truly unified end-to-end solution for all aspects of document imaging and processing - from input and capture to process automation, report archiving, and storage optimization. As a platinum sponsor for the second straight year, EMC is pleased to help lead the discussion on paper to digital document workflows."

The Forum features keynote presentations by Frank W. Abagnale, one of the world's most respected authorities on the subjects of forgery, embezzlement, and secure documents; Toby Bell, a research director on the high-performance workplace at Gartner; and Brad Florin, General Manager, Imaging and Archiving, EMC Software Group. The Conference also includes a panel session conducted by International Data Corporation (IDC) on how office equipment dealers can improve selling to end-user buying committees.

The event's agenda includes educational and technical breakout sessions, as well as an end-user panel with organizations from the United States and Europe discussing business benefits achieved by integrating paper-based information into enterprise applications. The panel presentation will be moderated by MFP Report Editor Brian Bissett.

Attendees will have the opportunity to view important, new technologies at an exhibit pavilion that will include event sponsors such as EMC, Equitrac, I.R.I.S., ABBYY, Hyland, Liberty, Captaris, Interwoven, Copitrak, and Laserfiche. Among the MFP manufacturers participating are Canon, Konica Minolta, Lanier, Ricoh, Sharp and Toshiba. eCopy will demonstrate their software on embedded application platforms from several MFP vendors.

According to Edward Schmid, president and CEO at eCopy, "This year's Forum showcases the largest gathering of MFP equipment vendors and application software vendors in the industry. The event's theme, 'infinite connections…endless opportunities,' embodies eCopy's vision of seamless, easy to use integration from any MFP platform to any application - ultimately enabling the customer to incorporate important paper-based information into any application or workflow."
