New Senior Leadership Will Further Accelerate eCopy's Growth In Europe
London, UK, 5 July 2005 — eCopy today announced that it has appointed Alan Cornwell as General Manager, European Operations. Cornwell is responsible for all aspects of eCopy's European business including sales and sales engineering, partner and channel relationships, marketing and professional services, as well as managing eCopy's on-going growth and expansion into new markets. In fiscal 2005, revenues from eCopy's European Operations grew 130 percent.
Cornwell brings nearly 30 years of industry experience in sales, marketing, and management of high-tech organisations to eCopy. He joins from Sealed Media, a leader in digital rights management and enterprise document and email solutions, where he held senior management positions including Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to Sealed Media, Cornwell was Vice President and General Manager of International Operations for Open Market Inc., a provider of content-centric business application software.
Commenting on the appointment, Edward Schmid, eCopy's president and CEO, said, "Alan joins eCopy at a pivotal point in the ongoing development of our European business, which has more than tripled in the last three years. He brings with him impressive first-hand experience of building and managing European businesses, including the establishment of subsidiary operations, which will be critical to our continued growth."
Initially, Cornwell will lead a team of 10 individuals based in the U.K., Germany, France, and Sweden. He will immediately work to expand that team to meet customer demand.
"I am very excited at the opportunity to steer eCopy's European expansion at this important time in its development," Cornwell said. "eCopy's technology for digitally integrating paper-based information into existing business processes is increasingly proving to be invaluable to a multitude of industries. The adoption of eCopy's innovative solutions is increasing rapidly and its applications will streamline and transform paper-heavy sectors such as legal, healthcare, and financial services with an initial focus on maintaining and building-out our foothold in Europe."
