Management Team


Edward Schmid, President and CEO
Edward Schmid founded the privately-held eCopy, Inc. in 1992, as Simplify Development Corporation. Prior to eCopy's formation, Schmid worked with LaserData, Inc., a Tyngsboro, Massachusetts-based developer of document imaging systems for PC LANs. At LaserData, he served as director of marketing and vice president for application marketing. Schmid started his career in applied technology at Digital Equipment Corporation in 1975. Among other assignments, he ran a DEC standards group that worked with Apple and Microsoft to establish the international ISO-9660 standard that allows CD-ROMs to be read across different PC and computer platforms. Schmid holds a master's degree in business administration from New York University.

Gary Hall, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer 
Gary Hall has over 20 years of financial experience with both publicly traded and private companies. Prior to joining eCopy, Hall was the senior vice president and chief financial officer of MatrixOne, Inc., a publicly traded product lifecycle management software company. While at MatrixOne, Hall was involved in the company’s rapid global expansion, initial public offering, business acquisitions and successful sale to Dassault Systemes for over $400 million in 2006. Prior to MatrixOne, Hall was a senior audit manager for Deloitte and held various financial management positions with New England real estate management companies. Hall has a bachelors degree in accounting from Southern New Hampshire University and a masters degree in finance from Bentley College. Hall is a certified public accountant and a certified management accountant.

Tim Corkery, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Tim Corkery has more than 30 years of experience in sales and services management for software companies. He joined eCopy in 2000 as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and was promoted to Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Services in 2004. Before joining eCopy, he held senior sales management positions for technology companies including Dragon Systems, PC Docs, Eastman Software, LaserData, NEC Information Systems, and Wang. His experience includes management of indirect, direct, retail, and Internet sales channels.
 
Over the last few years, the eCopy sales channels have grown rapidly in number, geographic reach, and complexity. As Chief Operating Officer of eCopy, Corkery will be responsible for the majority of eCopy’s business functions, including selling, manufacturing, and delivering products and professional services to customers. He will bring together all the operational components of the business, enabling eCopy to continuously improve the partnership opportunities it offers to MFP manufacturers, their office equipment dealers, value added resellers, and system integrators.

Michael Conley, Vice President, Engineering
Prior to joining eCopy, Inc. as the vice president of engineering, Michael Conley worked for Eastman Software, once a wholly owned subsidiary of Eastman Kodak, where he held such positions as vice president of engineering and director of software development. Additionally, Conley held the position of manager of software development at AGFA, Inc. Conley holds a bachelor's of arts degree in math from the University of Maine and a master's of science degree in computer science from Northeastern.

Tim James, Business Unit Vice President 
Tim James has been with eCopy since 1996 where he began as a Marketing Manager. James made the move to the sales organization in 1998, where he held numerous roles, from Regional Sales Manager to National Director before being promoted to his current role in June 2004. James is considered an industry leader and pioneer in the office equipment arena where his solution selling approach has gained widespread accolades and recognition. James holds a bachelor's of arts degree from Iona College in New Rochelle, NY.

Mark Roy, Vice President, Customer Support Services
Mark Roy has been with eCopy since 2000 where he began as a Technical Services Manager. Over the years, Roy has managed and developed several successful technical programs, including eCopy College (our online training program) and Ask eCopy (our online technical support portal). Prior to joining eCopy, Roy was the Instructional Design Coordinator for web based distance education at Clarkson College. Roy also served two terms in the United States Air Force where he held varying roles of management for some of the nation's most valuable assets. Roy holds an associate of science from Clarkson College and a bachelor's of science in business information systems from Bellevue University.

Takashi Fukuda

Takashi Fukuda, General Manager, Japan
As General Manager for Japan, Takashi Fukuda has responsibility for building eCopy's business and awareness in the Japanese market. Prior to joining eCopy, Fukuda was co-founder of Unity Link International, a corporation created to assist US and Japanese companies enter new markets by maximizing the internet and database marketing/advertising. Fukuda was Vice President and General Manager of Japanese Business for VistaPrint, where he oversaw all functions of the Japanese business, including sales, marketing, engineering, production, and customer support. He also initiated the corporate strategy for the Japanese marketing including the procedure for establishing its Japanese subsidiary. Fukuda held executive positions at other companies such as EDS, Dragon Systems, and Honeywell. Fukuda received a bachelor's degree in Engineering from Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan and a master's degree in Engineering from the University Karlsruhe in Karlsruhe, Germany.

Tim Durant, Vice President, Business Development Worldwide
Tim Durant comes to eCopy with over 16 years of business experience. As Vice President of Business Development Worldwide at eCopy, Durant leads eCopy's overall business strategy, execution, and P&L performance with key manufacturing partners. Prior to joining eCopy, Durant was most recently the Chief Executive Officer at Ice Engineering where he led the growth of a highly complex technology from R&D to being employed world-wide. Previous to Ice Engineering, he was the COO/Executive Vice President of Passkey International Inc., where he led global sales, marketing, product management and operations. Durant helped build Passkey from an idea into the largest processor of group hotel rooms in the world. Prior to Passkey, Durant was Director of Sales and Business Development at Switchboard Inc., helping build the company into the 15th most active web site on the internet. Durant's extensive experience also includes military technology training in The United States Navy, consulting at Digital Equipment and evaluating technology, and working with management teams as an associate venture capitalist. He earned a BS at Boston University, and an MBA at Babson College Olin School of Management.
