With ShareScan Essentials, office workers can use their multifunction peripherals (MFP) to quickly and securely scan paper documents and distribute electronic copies as PDF files, increasing workgroup productivity through improved access to information. It offers document scanning to e-mail, fax, network folders, and eCopy Desktop™. In addition, ShareScan Essential’s platform architecture opens unlimited opportunities for integration with any business application through a variety of application integration capabilities.

ShareScan Essentials helps organizations save time, reduce costs and increase business results through an automated document management solution that securely puts paper documents directly into their electronic workflows.

What’s included in ShareScan Essentials

  • ShareScan connects your MFP to your organization’s e-mail and other enterprise applications for easy to use, secure distribution of document images.

  • eCopy Desktop PC software provides an intuitive interface that enables users to retrieve, combine and edit original-quality document images at their desktop.

  • eCopy Connectors and Services link eCopy-enabled devices with software applications to give users the ability to scan document images directly to those applications. ShareScan Essentials includes connectors that enable document scanning directly to:

    - Microsoft® Exchange™
    - Lotus Notes
    - Mail via SMTP
    - eCopy Desktop™
    - Fax via Exchange/Notes
    - Fax via Print Drivers
    - Network locations including folders, FTP and user Home Directories

Additional Connectors are available separately for document management scanning and cost recovery applications.

      Device compatibility
      ShareScan Essentials is available on select MFPs with embedded platforms and includes server software that handles the processing and integration of document management scanning for back end systems.

      eCopy Embedded server requirements
      - Windows™ Vista™ Business and Enterprise Edition
      - Windows XP™/2000/2003
      - 512MB memory recommended
      - Intel® Pentium® PC (2.0GHz)

      eCopy Desktop minimum system requirements

      • Windows Vista x86 (Business and Enterprise Editions), Microsoft® Windows XP with SP2 (or higher), Windows 2000 with SP4 (or higher)

      • Intel Pentium based PC or equivalent is recommended; 800 MHz processor for Windows Vista;  300 MHz or higher processor for Windows XP and Windows 2000)

      • 512 MB RAM recommended for Windows Vista and for color images; 256 MB RAM or higher recommended for Windows XP and Windows 2000

      • 320 MB free hard disk space for the application files and working space during installation
